Are You Flourishing Or Barely Surviving?

We all want to survive, don’t we?

We all want to keep going, to continue with this wonderful experience we call life. Well, most of us do.

There are some people who haven’t yet learned how to flourish in life. I want to help those people to better understand how they can learn to flourish.

There are a few things that those people need to know about who and what they are, and what they are actually capable of achieving in life.

Maximum Success

Success is not just something that relates to your job, or your career. It actually relates to everything you do in life.
In this article, we are going to look at the nature of success in relation to your entire life. If we can learn to live a successful life, then not only will we be surviving, we will be flourishing.

Imagine living the kind of life you have always wanted, or at the very least, the kind of life where you have more freedom, where you have more choice, where you have more opportunities, where you grow, learn, and evolve.

This is what we are aiming for. This is a truly successful life.

So, how do we learn to flourish?

Here are a few things you can do to help yourself:

1. Go beyond your comfort zone

When it comes to most things that are really worth achieving in life, you are going to have to go outside of your comfort zone. Inside your comfort zone are the things you are familiar with, the things you have known and have done for the majority of your life.

If you stay inside your comfort zone, you are guaranteeing that you will live the exact same kind of life you have been living up to now.

Going beyond your comfort zone, means pushing through the experiences that make you uncomfortable, doing the things that you find challenging, and not giving up when things get tough.

2. Consider new approaches to the same situations

When you want to change things up in your life, it should go without saying that something or some things need to change. A common argument that holds people back in life, is that they think they have tried everything to improve their situation.
But there is an age old saying that comes to mind here, “Where there is a will, there is a way.” As long as you don’t give up trying, you may have to try a thousand times, in a thousand different ways, eventually you will achieve what you want to achieve.

If you think you have done everything you can, figure out a way to improve and expand on your knowledge and skill set, so that you can try again in some ways that you haven’t yet tried.

3. An open mind is a source of growth

Having an open mind in life is a lot like having a large field of nutrient rich earth; You can plant anything in it. If you keep yourself open to what happens around you, you will find that opportunities to grown and evolve come everywhere.
If you have a closed mind you are very likely to miss out on these opportunities when they arise.

Having an open mind is the key to conquering your fears and phobias, to finding new connections with people you have never met, to understanding yourself and your capabilities in all areas of your life; a closed mind is the exact opposite of this.

Open yourself up to the potential that exists around you, and you’ll find yourself flourishing in no time at all.
With this small amount of advice, I hope you have found yourself a foothold along the path to flourishing in your life. One of the most important things I can say is this, “Just don’t give up!”

No matter what, you must figure out how you can change what you want to. Giving up, is like accepting hell as heaven. If you have the strength to push on though, you will grow into the kind of person you want to be, you will flourish in life, in everything you do.

5 Signs You Lack Confidence

Self-confidence has many different definitions and can appear in many different ways but can have a huge impact on a person’s satisfaction with life and overall wellbeing. There are many different ways that low self-esteem can reduce the quality of a person’s life and hold them back or prevent them from achieving their goals and aspirations.

When you are confident within and believe in yourself, you are able to let go of the need to be accepted by others. This is a very important feeling that allows you to set yourself free and become the best version of yourself. It is important to reflect on your daily thoughts and actions to analyze your levels of self confidence in different situations and determine whether or not you lack it.

Below are five different signs that determine if you lack self-confidence or not.

1. Seeking Validation

Always looking to external factors such as your surroundings and the body language or reactions of others in order to feel satisfied and happy is a sign that you may be lacking self-esteem. Independent people and those who are confident are able to accept themselves and love themselves first so that the opinions of others do not impact their mental and emotional health.

With the increased use of technology and social media, searching for validation from others can become addictive and is increasing at a significant rate. It is important to reflect on where you find acceptance and make sure that you are able to acknowledge the opinions of others without letting them control your confidence and self-worth.

2. Apologizing Often

Saying you are sorry constantly during unnecessary times is an important sign that you may need to work on your self-confidence. If you apologize before saying your opinion or for your behavior when you have done nothing wrong, you are putting yourself down without even knowing it.

Notice the times that you apologize and make sure they are only for legitimate reasons. You can replace “I’m sorry” with phrases such as “Thank you” or “Excuse me” depending on the situation in order to project your self-worth and gain respect.

3. Not Speaking Up

Being too hesitant to voice your opinion, especially in the workplace, is a sign that you may be lacking the confidence within and may feel incapable. Speaking clearly and confidently is one of the most important qualities of being a leader and someone that is trustworthy. Voicing your opinion shows that you trust yourself and are capable of the tasks at hand. This means letting go of self-doubt and the inner critic and stepping out of your comfort zone.

4. Social Withdrawal

Being afraid to go to social events or leave home can be a sign that you lack self-confidence and are holding yourself back from living your life to the fullest. Whether you are scared to speak and sound stupid or say the wrong thing or do not feel confident in your appearance, avoiding human interaction can be detrimental for your wellbeing. It is important to reflect on your fears and learn to face them because putting yourself in social situations can make you more confident and prepared in the future.

5. Feeling Incapable

Feeling like you are not enough or that someone else is more capable and could get the job done better than you can is one of the most common limiting beliefs that can lower your self-esteem and make you feel worthless. It is important to understand your unique skills and qualities and use them to fuel your confidence, rather than comparing yourself to others.
